Fraudulent account with NOW TV

Someone Fraudulently used my bank details to set up an account with NOW TV.
I've tried contacting them three times now (you can ONLY talk online to them) because they are continuing to take my money even though I don't have an account with them. I've been told to go to my bank (which I have already done) speak to family members who may have set it up without my knowledge (no they haven't) and report it to the police.
I've asked multiple times to make a complaint because it hasn't been resolved, to be told "someone will get back to you shortly" but no one has. Bear in mind I'm reporting a Fraud here!
I just find it infuriating that you cannot physically speak to anyone; they are not interested in a Fraud and there is nothing I can do about it.
Has anyone got a solution? Have they had problems with the customer service of NOW TV?
Thank you.

  • Just tell your bank it's fraud and they have to reimburse.

Beyond that, it's a problem for others.

    Keep it simple.

It's not inconceivable that the details were entered incorrectly and it's a mistake rather than fraud. I'd actually suggest that this is more likely as it's presumably not a massive amount each time and why would someone commit fraud for peanuts.

Regardless, as already suggested, talk to your bank. They will refund all monies taken and send an instruction to the originator (Now TV) that you dispute signing up. No more debits should be taken and all being well that'd be the end of it for you.

Edit: for the sake of clarity your bank will send a message to the originators bank rather than the originator (unless it's the same bank).

What PeacefulWaters says. Stop trying to deal with Now TV and just go to your bank.

Haven't bought a pass for a few years now but as I remember the payment is via a Continuous Payment Authority on the card. So you would need to cancel your card and ask your bank to issue a new one to prevent any further monies being taken.

Once that's done, you can focus on reclaiming the money that has already been taken from you.

Just cancelling a card won't cancel a CPA as such, your bank has to actually do that http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/recurring-payments. Your card should be able to carry on as normal.
  • I have had similar issue just before christmas where couple of thousand pounds were taken out over a period of 3 days.

There were about a hundred transaction attributed to nowtv.com/billingh

Raised a fraud case with the bank and finally got the money back after about 3 weeks.

Old card cancelled, new arrived. 2 weeks later again a string of fraudulent transactions have hit my account! Getting tired of this now. I havent even had a chance to use this new card properly and its already been cancelled.

I didnt realise this at the time, I suspect this is how the new card got hit again by same nowtv.com fraudulent billing. Neither did my bank advise me about this. I have cancelled the CPA now.

If you go on to the Now website and go to account/ passes there is the option for querying charges further down. Also if you look at the users online, any with a "Now" logo are Now staff. If you type @ followed by their name then you can tag them and get their attention quicker.
Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.
