That's nonsense, there need to be clear intent to misdescribe it leading to knowingly providing false information.

The seller didn't believe he was doing anything wrong so didn't lie. This is where private buyers need to do there own due diligence.
Regularly putting sealant into the cooling system would suggest otherwise. You don't try and cure a coolant leak on a healthy car!

OP, how exactly did he describe the condition of the car?

Well that price sounds a bit OTT to me & I would be looking for another quote to be honest
207 is a good solid little car.
Sounds like a bit of negotiation with the seller is the way to go ??

I agree. Replacing a head gasket on a car like a 207 should take no more than 6 hours for a respectable small independent garage. Say labour is charged at £65 per hour and the gasket set is about £75, then you should be looking at £465. Add in £20 for oil and £15 for coolant...and that comes to about £500. Even if they decide to be cheeky and charge you for 8 hours (all day job), you would still 'only' be looking at £630. Obviously you pay more at a main dealer service centre.
