Paypal chargeback for eBay item- any advise or have I been totally screwed over?

I've had the 'won' message before and not seen it all released properly for several days- but that looks like paypal have finally read their own rules- well done.
I still find it appalling though that we often have to remind them what protection they offer- and I worry that sellers who don't know how it works, or haven't found this forum just accept they have lost money. They take money from us for their service, the least they can do is employ enough people who understand the system and don't make us run around doing their job for them.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. That's what happened to my Chargeback defence. It basically means that they have refunded you from seller protection. But the case is not closed yet as they are fighting the chargeback with the bank on your behalf and with the evidence you provided.pleasedelete wrote: »Thanks
I sent a complaint about the complaint using all of the points that you all quoted.
I have now received an email saying
We're happy to confirm that the payment dispute detailed below was decided in your favour.
We've reimbursed your PayPal account with the disputed amount.
However when I log into paypal it still shows as an open case and the text says
We've also released the amount on hold back to your PayPal balance, while we try to resolve this case. You'll not be required to take any action for now.
and to add to the position there is a secure message about the complaint that says
Upon review of the case we see that this transaction did qualify for seller protection. We have reimbursed your account for the amount of the transaction and for the amount of the chargeback fee. You should see the refund within five to seven days.
So I sent it may not yet be over? All 3 message were sent within a 5 minute period.
I don't think you need to worry any more or need to do anything further until being asked again (for further evidence).0 -

This exactly.
It can take several months for Paypal to fight the chargeback - and they will based on the info you've given. However they are telling you they have agreed your transaction is fully covered by seller protection, so you will lose neither the money nor be charged the fee.0
