Hi, I have an older (non-Smart) LG TV which switches itself off after a couple of hours, and a warning message about no activity.
My smaller TV (also LG) in the bedroom does exactly the same.
I can't find anything in the settings that I can change to stop this happening.
Can anybody help please? All I can find when googling is to do with updated smart TVs.
TIA

My Samsung in the kitchen does. I don't think there's anything to disable it, you just need to use one of the buttons once in every two hours.0

It's a feature (for when you fall asleep in front of the TV). Slightly annoying when TV is used just as a monitor for DVD or similar. (MIne does put up a warning box saying it's going to power off in a couple of minutes unless I'm awake enough to acknowledge it, and like yours, it tells me next power-on that it did so.)
Do you have TV model numbers ?0 -
Is it not in Settings - General - Timers?
It's a feature of most TV's but can be turned on and off in all AFAIK. It would be a pointless feature if you couldn't, IMO.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Yes, I use both TVs as monitors for Humax boxes.
The model number for the lounge TV is 32LK33OU, smaller bedroom one is 22LH2000.
I'm not worried really about the bedroom one switching itself off as I always fall asleep watching it and without this feature I'd find it still on in the morning when I woke up, so it might be a good thing! I would rather that I could watch the lounge TV without this though.
I can't remember when this started to annoy me, I certainly don't recall that it's always happened and more or less positive that it's really only been doing this in the last few months.
I'm actually wondering now if it's been caused by software updates for the Humax boxes?0 -
You need to turn off auto standby in the settings menu:-

Thank you. I had looked at the time settings and there is a choice of 4, 6 or 8 hours auto standby, it was on 4, although I don't think my TV went 4 hours without switching off (maybe 2).
I've now turned it off as suggested and will keep my fingers crossed.0 -
Just an update to thank all who answered and ChrisW in particular - I have just sat through a 2 hour programme and it didn't switch off. Switching off the auto standby did the trick.0
