PCN Appeal - Do I have sufficient grounds to go to Poplar?

Hi folks, please bear with me I'm very new to this!
I have had a PCN appeal rejected by NCP for "Not parked correctly within the markings of the bay space". The bay marking was extremely worn out and we parked at night and could hardly see it.
I parked at about 10pm at night and the tip of the bay marking (the top of the "T") that was visible beyond the bumper of the car was hardly visible at all in the poor light, and compared to the bay marking next to it was so much more worn that I had thought it wasn't real and was just a larger bay.
I've read how the markings need to be unmistakably clear and unbroken. Would you say I should keep going with a POPLA appeal? I was going to wait to see if I get a follow-up NTK at the right time in case there are any mistakes in there I could also use. (FYI I did say I was driving in my PCN appeal letter as I was describing the experience of identifying the lines).
P.S. Am I right in thinking the rejection letter is not the formal NTK and I should still be expecting this to arrive? It will be one month from PCN on 28th August.
Thanks

Did the driver appeal a windscreen ticket?
If so, no NtK will be served. They dont need to, if the driver was identified.
So simple first steps - answer the question above.0 -
Yes I appealed a PCN that was left on my windscreen0

Was the driver identified?0
-
In my appeal I discussed my own decisions while parking the car so yes I indirectly stated I was the driver0

Ok so you go to the newbies thread and use the popla templates there. You just can't use pofa arguments. Easy.0

Thanks. Would you say it is worth appealing via POPLA? I don't know whether the worn lines alone would usually be enough to win an appeal.0

yes, always challenge. be careful what you say though, as your relative naivety may cause you to shoot yourself in the foot. From the Plain Language Commission:
