Estate management fees

I do wonder about this - I'm on an estate with these charges, and probably looking to sell soon (and may well buy on another estate with these charges).


On my estate in a 3 bed house we pay just over £100 a year. I'll be able to provide my buyer with invoice history going back the 5 years we've lived there, in which time it has increased by about £5 - but there are no guarantees it won't increase further, and I guess they just have to trust their judgment?


I could also provide them with the annual management company accounts, which are sent to us, but honestly I'm going to be surprised if any potential purchaser asks for them. They would show that there's no massive deficit, and a bit of a sinking fund for future projects.


I have heard of estates in my area where it is more like £500 a year, so for me it's a priority to find this out before offering on a house.
