Hello
I am fairly new to the MSE forums and need to curb my spending which has quite frankly got out of control.
So I need a kick in the teeth!!! I am going to do a challenge where I can only spend £10 this week (baring in mind I have done a food shop and won't be taking petrol in to account as I don't work will accept this as an excuse to not come in!). I literally have £10 only in my purse so that's why I have gone with this!
I buy breakfast and lunch most work days and then there's the weekend...so this is a difficult challenge for me!
Does anyone want to do this with me?

OK so day one! I have got up a bit earlier this morning and made a coffee rather than getting one on the way to work. I have had breakfast ( a shake, nothing exciting!) and made my lunch last night of pesto pasta and cheese. There is no reason for me to buy anything today so I am going to leave my purse at home, can't physically spend anything then! Just need to not eat my lunch by 10.30am tehe!01.05.2019 - Re-Mortgage - £142,000 :eek::eek: Total overpaid to date: £15,584.33.

I love this idea but with school holidays I already have a couple of days out I'm committed to with the kids which are costing £40 in total. Maybe I could do a £10-apart-from-that-£40-week?0

Hi BettyBoof, yes I can imagine school holidays increase the spending pot! Yeh go for it - only spending £10 on additonal things
So I successfully ate my lunch at 12.01 (took a lot of steel to wait until then!) and did not spend anything yesterday! Today it is a repeat to yesterday, shake and coffee at home for breakfast, pesto, pasta and cheese for lunch...I need to take my purse to work today as I need to get some petrol but I am determined to not spend anything in addition to this!!01.05.2019 - Re-Mortgage - £142,000 :eek::eek: Total overpaid to date: £15,584.33.

No spend again today
managed to keep my fingers away from the tempting snacks at the petrol station by paying at the pump. No reason to leave the house tonight so 2nd day down!

Coffee and shake for breakfast again and have soup for lunch (leftover from last weeks dinner). Going to be working at a site near Ikea today...must resist going in! Hopefully another no spend day01.05.2019 - Re-Mortgage - £142,000 :eek::eek: Total overpaid to date: £15,584.33.

Coffee and a shake for breakfast again and taking my own lunch to work again (pasta, pesto and cheese - sound familiar?!). Managed to circumnavigate Ikea so another no spend day! Still have the £10 in my purse and my credit card has stayed firmly in its pouch!
Friday nights are usually when I have a few beers to relax after the week...I don't have any in so it will be a dry weekend for me:eek:
Need to go in to town on Saturday to get my euro's (obs not in the £10 a week challenge!) so need a strategy for this as I can't leave town without a pastie and some kind of 'treat' for myself!01.05.2019 - Re-Mortgage - £142,000 :eek::eek: Total overpaid to date: £15,584.33.

Another no spend day for me yesterday :j 5 days in a row whoop!
Shake, and coffee for breakfast again and taking HM soup to work for lunch.
Going to keep busy tonight, do a bit off tidying when I get in from work, cook dinner for when the OH comes home and then maybe paint my nails whilst watching something terrible on tv in the evening to distract from the lack of beer/wine in my hand!01.05.2019 - Re-Mortgage - £142,000 :eek::eek: Total overpaid to date: £15,584.33.

Been in town to get my euro's and didn't spend anything else whoop! Had a look round because I do need to get a few clothes as part of a holiday shop but decided to look what I have first and then do a holiday shop online so I can use a cashback site and keep a track on my spending and I am more likely going to buy what I need then! No spend day #6 as I am not counting the euros01.05.2019 - Re-Mortgage - £142,000 :eek::eek: Total overpaid to date: £15,584.33.
