Bensons for Beds - Delivery drivers denying damage

We had some beds delivered (and taken away again due to faults) and one of the drivers did £5K damage to our front door. The driver took a photo and said that Bensons would pay for it. One week later the drivers are now denying all knowledge and Bensons won't take liability.

What options do we have for getting then to pay up?

Thanks in advance

5k worth of damage to a front door??
  • Yes, although the damage looks minor, the manufacturer has said that the full frame needs to be replaced and that was their official quote

The manufacturer is pulling a fast one there is no way a front door would cost anywhere near that

But even Bensons for Beds should be able to get a bed through that opening without getting anywhere near the door, let alone causing £5000 of damage. :D

(cue a picture of a very big bed) ;)

    Their official quote is unreasonable.

You need to get two more quotes from alternatives. Get a couple of independent companies to come round and quote.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

We really, really do need a picture . . .
  • if am not been too nosey here, if the quote to repair the door is 5k what did the door cost new?
