So myself, my 2 year old daughter and my fianc! were originally booked to go on honeymoon to fuerteventura in Sept. with only 6 weeks to go my other half has cancelled the wedding and we've separated. Me and my daughter are still going on the holiday and it's all paid for and we'd only get 30% of the cost back if we cancelled. I've asked some friends if they can make it instead and my best friend can do it but only few days and will come on different flights. So the online checkin is open this week. Do I just check in myself and my daughter and tell the airport he's not coming. Then when we get to the hotel explain that the other adult will be coming in a few days on a different flight?

Yes, just check yourselves in, you don't need to tell them if you don't want to, if he's not checked they won't look for him, they'll just put him down as a no-show.

If it's a package, with transfers included you should tell them you're only 2 now, just so they know they're one less.

Yes, at the hotel just tell them the other adult will be coming later.

It Is a package. It's with jet2holidays. It says in their terms that it's cheaper to change the name of the person rather than cancel them. I was kinda hoping to avoid paying anything at all. Can I just tell the transfer bus when I get there?

Yes, when you get on the coach, just say you're two instead of 3, it'll just save the rep hassle when trying to tally up their passengers.

I wouldn't bother telling Jet2 before, as you say, they will try to charge you cancellation. You won't be the first people to turn up with one person less in their party, it happens for all sorts of reasons.
