Video editing on the go.

Options
Am looking to take 4-6 weeks off work and go 'backpacking'. Not a 100% sure exactly where yet but maybe India, South East Asia or Sub-Saharan Africa.

Anyway I've decided that wherever I go I want to travel as light a possible. I've got a 30ltr waterproof pack and want to get everything into that.

I've always taken big heavy photo/video kit plus MacBook Pro and d2 hard drives. That's not an option this time. So, looking to take a Fujifilm XT2 and a couple of lens maybe 3.

So, the tech related question is how can I do basic video editing (720p rather than 1080 or 4K) on the move? I've got a 17" MacBook Pro circ 2011 but it's on it's last legs (battery needs replacing) and not sure it's up to the riggers of this trip. I've also got a 2 year old iPad floating around somewhere.

Will be looking to upgrade all my Mac stuff when Apple gets its s**t together with the IMac Pro and Mac Pro.

Thoughts appreciated.

Given you have no responses yet, can I ask why you wish to edit whilst on the go?
Can you not just record to a plethora of cards and then edit when home or do you intend to post on a blog or similar activity?
