Going to Malta in a couple of weeks time, a couple of questions please;
( 1 ) Do they use British 13 amp sockets / plugs, or Euro Type ??
( 2 ) How much are ciggies ??.
Thanks in adance for any help you can give.

...having a relative living there.
They use the 2 pin continental variety so you'll need an adapter(s).
Ciggies have gone up to around £2.50 for 20 (L&B, B&H, Silk cut) cheaper alternatives are availiable like Dunhill and L&M.
Have a good time.:D
Be sure to buy Hobz Malti, the local bread for around 22c (its the business) and try the pea/cheese cakes for around 12c. Last time I was there the conversion was 62c = £1.
Edit: I remember putting a LM2 note into a cigerette machine about 6 months ago, so nearer £3 is more accurate for ciggies - still better than the UK's pitiful tax regime.0 -
Strange, I posted the same question on another Forum, and I have been told by somebody that lives in Malta that they use standard 3 pin UK plugs, I am even more confused now ??

I haven't been to malta for 4 or 5 years, but when I was there last, they had the same plugs as us. The 3 pin type.0 -
We were in Malta in May/June this year and the plugs/amp were the same as UK.
Panda on My Shoulder
If you can make it cheaper do so. If it's not reduced, in Primark, off ebay or free I can't have it :rotfl:0 -

Well that is Strange!
My Nan lived (now back in the UK) in a rather run down throwback apartment just off Sliema promenade,surrounded by 'updated' apartments in the same block. The thing about renting there is, if your in, your there for life, as long as you can prove you're a member of the same family. I say that because it was kept in the family for generations, hence probably why I got electric shocks of the taps.... (I'm realising that the rest of Malta isn't geared up to my experience!).Maybe its changing/or has been for years. I recall the Maltese government spending millions of pounds to appease pilots concerns of 'limited runway' only for reverse thrust to come into fruition. Hey, things change!
Without waffling too much, I'm now thinking it was so old fashioned it ran on the 2 pin system and that has now been updated, and I never noticed outside of the flat that things had moved on? I can say for sure that I definately had to use an adapter!
Sorry for any confusion OP. Aside from the 2/3 pin thing, I love Malta, so ask away with anymore questions!0
