Name Change with Experian

Hi
I have recently been in touch with Experian to change my address after moving house. I realised also that my married name was not showing and neither were any of the credit accounts linked to it. I updated all of this information immediately and then couldn't log back in as it was showing they couldn't verify me. I called Experian to ask why and how long until this would be sorted and was basically told that they don't know!
Now the interest free period on a credit card I have is about to run out and I cannot access any sort searches to find the best deal.
Has anybody else been in this situation- I'd love to know how long it might take to be sorted!
Thanks

If you're after a sort search on a balance transfer card, how about using MSE's checker...

I changed my name by deed poll a few years ago. I was told that if I told my bank and credit card provider, the credit reference agencies would be updated. In fact, they weren't and I had to write to each of them. When I did, though, they were pretty quick about updating their records. I sent them letters and I think it only took a couple of weeks to be able to see the change on Experian's website.0
