New Bathroom - heated & lit mirror + underfloor heating

Hi
Are either of these worth the money ?
We're having our house gutted & so we need a new bathroom.
Two things that are being suggested are underfloor heating & heated & illuminated mirrors.
The mirror I'm considering is a Hib groove 60 which is a mirror cabinet with built in Bluetooth speaker. It's on special offer at nearly £300 ! The list price is £700 & I've looked around on line & I can't find it cheaper. Although I can see cheaper mirrors.
It looks fab etc etc but I am struggling in my own head with the price.
The second thing is heated floors. Again I like the idea but it would mean that the floor would need to be tiled.
Has anyone else had their bathroom redone & considered such options ?
What did you decide ? Are they worth the money ?
Cheers
Jen

£300 for a bathroom cabinet?!
.......as to underfloor heating we decided against it and went with a radiator plus a heated towel rail. Works for us.0 -
You can heat any standard mirror, more important than mirror lighting for me
This is what I've used - mirror heat pads

don't be fooled by the less than 1mm thick statement, the connector block is the thickest part - 7.6 mm0 -
It really depends on your budget.
I've not had either of those things in the past but I do put them into people's houses.
We're building our own house within the year and we will have mirror lights, demista pads and electric underfloor heating in each bathroom. We'll have speakers in the main bathroom.
They're all luxuries, obviously. They just add to a feeling of quality in a room. It would be nice to see my face in the mirror after a shower and I'm hoping that the underflooring will help dry up the aftermath of a hairy husband :rotfl:
I really like HIB mirrors. The Globe is my favourite. It illuminates to the sides and so lights your face and casts a lovely light onto the walls, especially if you have a textured tile.
Otherwise, I prefer a backlit mirror for ambience and an alternative to 'the big light'Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Thanks everyone
I am almost convinced with both of them.
I can't see this type of mirror cheaper anywhere else. Thanks Doozergirl I'll have a look at the Globe.
They are both luxuries I know but a big part of me says if you're going to put in a nice bathroom include a few luxuries to make it special.
Retro fitting this type of thing would be a nightmare.
I'm considering the wall paneling. Has anyone else used it ?
Cheers

Have you installed anything like this:

Wall panels and enclosure like the link are horrid
A well fitted porcelain tile will outlast all of the above and be free from maintenance
Ensure floors and walls are free from all movement , tank walls and use premium adhesives , grouts and silicones.
Demister pads are cheap to buy and run, I can't remember the last bathroom we installed where we didn't fit . It's one off those things that are a must
UFH, I see far too many that never get to the set point due to no insulation. A well fitted floor needs to be fully insulated, the mat must be screeded as if it's not fully encapsulated it will eventually overheat and burn out .
Roper Rhodes have so reasonable price mirrors, as do Peebles grey. If funds allow Schneider make some fantastic cabinetsHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -
If the extraction is fitted to a good spec and basic cleaning covered then no
Do you think these pods have no silicones or joins? We have fitted from the £900 frog showers to 8k porcelanosa. They all go wrong , they all have foam seals and they all leak as made from flexible fibreglass . Add the crappy flexible hoses and you've got a item with a 5yr lifespan
We've probably close to a 1000 installs now, some are 12yrs old and are still on first applied silicone and grout . My own wetroom, used twice a day everyday, I'm always covered in other customers bathroom dirt, cleaned monthly, grout and silicone clean as the day it was installed
There's those that know and those that think they know how to fit durable bathroomsHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -

Thanks. I did wonder how they stopped the joints leaking.
Have you fitted any of the Coram ones? They come with a 25 year guarantee but, of course, the devil is in the detail.0
