Energy switch

There can be problems with switching, but these are very rare. However in any case there is no interruption in supply-it's just a billing change. Whatever else you do, get off BG SVT-it's the most expensive.
It's unlikely that your switch will complete by 15/9, it typically takes 4 to 5 weeks. No free lunch, and no free laptop

If you switch to e.on then they will switch within 17 days as they have signed up to the faster switching voluntary code
https://www.eonenergy.com/for-your-home/help-and-support/changing-supplier-questionsHow long will it take to switch to E.ON?
It'll take about 17 days to complete your switch to us. During this time we'll start to get all the right meter details for your home. The only thing you need to do is provide us with your first meter readings when we ask for them, and we'll contact you to let you know when your switch is complete.
To help make sure your switch goes as smoothly as possible, please clear any outstanding balance with your existing supplier straight away.0 -

Indeed, they gave quotation of £6,000 for a new Boiler replacement a while ago. I get quotation from several boiler installers varying from just £1500 - £2000 the same Boiler specs.
I can not understand why the difference is so high, Is it to do with inefficiency ??? They are a big company, so they should be able to overtake their small competitors by doing it smarter taking the benefit of economic of scale and experience.0 -
I was referring to their tariffs, not their boiler install quotes. The latter are usually 40% more than a local GSR RGI. Not because they are less efficient, but because they are the legacy supplier, and many people, especially those who have never switched, would turn to BG first, and not get alternative quotes. So they charge whatever they can get away with.No free lunch, and no free laptop

I fully understand that you were referring to Energy Tariffs.
My info just to highlight that it seems almost everything they are doing are well over the odd.
Boiler replacement as previous example. Also I remember I got Home insurance quotation from them typically twice the price of other insurance.0
