Private Parking Company Ignore My Appeal - Ridiculous

And pay towards them scamming the next group of motorists, many of whom we see are the vulnerable who simply don't have £100 to 'buy off a problem'.I'm in a half a mind to just pay the pond scum £100 to be honest.
- The little old lady, who's just lost her husband with no one in the world any more to turn to for support, breaking her heart now in two directions.
- The breadline pensioners for whom £100 is 2 weeks food budget, meaning they'll hardly eat or drink for the next fortnight,
- The cancer patients who are deliberately targeted because their chemo treatment often takes longer than the time limits set by the PPC in order to catch them out. No one is safe from their venal and rapacious clutches.

spoke to someone more senior who advised me that while he/she can see where I'm coming from, it may be more sensible to swallow some humble pie and pay up, because I risk bringing my company into disrepute, the potential for the media to get involved and distort things etc.
What an idiot. Someone who just wants any issues swept under the carpet. Did they not realise that a parking charge is just an invoice, nothing that means anything in life or affects the company's or your reputation in any way!
Give the scumbags your home address and ignore the letters. Come back if you get a claim, it's beatable.
Please stop taking this so seriously; you had no reason to ring that legal line and you have no reason to pay it, whatsoever. You're letting yourself be bullied and misled. We do these cases all the time!
There was a plan of action and that is still, ignore the crap. Nothing has changed, please don't let a legal line tell us about the Beavis case, which we know inside out and are in touch with Barry Beavis, who also fights these scams nowadays.

Totally agree Umkomaas and Coupon-mad. I wrote that the other night when I was knackered after work. The letters can keep coming - I won't be paying up. I also won't be giving them my personal address, which is none of their business. Any letter which turns up at my place of work will just arrive at reception then divert onto me. I will read it, and keep it for evidence for any potential court case. Either way, if this does escalate into debt recovery threats etc, I will threaten them with court action for harassment, malicious intent etc. I've been reading up on multiple PCN's, harassment laws, and have a solicitor standing by, plus I have the resources to invest time and money into taking these scumbags on, so any potential court case I look forward to. A negative outcome is I lose and that's several hundred bob out my pocket; no biggie. I'll thoroughly waste their time in the process. I'll be reporting them to a host of places, writing to MP's, and more. Their reputation will be further damaged.0 -

Screw em. These people are nothing but morally-bankrupt fraudsters. Frankly, how they even exist in this country is beyond a joke. You'd think the govt would regulate the private parking industry more, setting up a fair and just appeals system. The charge you're asked to pay should depend on what you've done. E.g. - you overstay by two hours - £20 charge. You fail to buy a ticket at all - £30 charge (my local council issued me a 30 quid ticket years ago as I simply forgot to buy a ticket. I was in the wrong and paid up.) But for issues like typing your reg in wrong and proving you still bought a ticket and left within the time you paid for, there should be leeway. How many times have these wannabe mobsters made a mistake in their lives? Dozens. Yet they don't give you an inch for a genuine mistake when still, when it comes down to it, you have already paid several quid into their coffers. These places should be heavily scrutinised and some closed down.
They're not getting my money without a fight. I don't even care if I go to court and then lose. I've already paid them £3.30 for a 3 hour ticket, when their signage falsely implies after 8PM there is no charge. I've paid them £3.30 for 6 minutes parking. They owe ME money.0 -
It's potentially on the way, courtesy of Sir Greg Knight's Private Members Bill, due to be heard in February 2018. Do a Google search on it then write to your MP and assertively suggest that he/she needs to get behind the Bill if he/she wants to rely on your support at the next (perhaps not that far off) General Election. You'd think the govt would regulate the private parking industry more, setting up a fair and just appeals system. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum.
