MSATA SSD advice

Hi all,
I'm keen to put an MSATA SSD in my MSI GE60 laptop as it currently has a 1TB drive which is dragging the performance down and better used as storage.
I asked the manufacturer for drives that have been tested with that model and they've given a short list up to 128GB of Sandisk, Toshiba, Plextor and Hynix ones.
I was thinking originally of a Samsung Evo as I have one in my other laptop and it's great and know it's a reputable brand for SSDs.
The performance seems better as well. Unsure really whether to just be on the safe side and go with the mfr list or assume a Samsung Evo will work fine as I didn't think there'd be a huge difference between the drives anyway...?

Ask them if there is a 'whitelist' applied. If not, there should be no impediment.0

I'd play it safe the Evo isn't always plug and play0

Depending on where you buy from a retrun should be possible (e.g. don't think Amazon provided SSDs would be a problem to return)If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0

Samsung Evo is my first choice and I'd be surprised if it didn't work. Sandisks also been no problem for me in a dozen PCs I've put them into

Thanks all, they don't seem to have a whitelist as such. The list they provided were just ones they have tested with that model so can confirm compatibility with those.0
