Marks on plaster wall

Evening all, new here, I have been browsing for a while now and just joined, really impressed with the wealth of knowledge and help.
Got bit of an issue with a orange/pink patch on one of our walls, that has increased in size over the last few months, currently 12 inches long and about 2 inches high, I have tried to add an image but I can't as I'm a new member.
The other side of the wall is our bathroom and the patch is in the same area as the tap and drain end of our tub. We live in a top floor flat and I have asked the downstairs neighbours to see if they have any leaks appearing which they don't.
The wall is dry and not soft, sorry for the limited description but it's hard to describe without an image. Any guidance would be appreciated.
