Don't understand UC

Hi,
My partner and I both receive contribution based esa support group each and have just had a baby so now receive child benefit and get full housing benefit. We live in a full UC area so want to understand how it works before applying as I've read your income is assessed month to month, so on the few months a year due to the way the weeks fall we receive 3 benefit payments in a month instead of the normal 2 each would this then affect UC? I'm just worried the rent wouldn't be covered on those months. Thanks for any help you can give.

That is we would get 5 overall esa payments jointly instead of the normal 4 esa payments in the month0

I thought that one of the key points of UC was that it is paid once per month?0

The only reason you would apply for UC is if you want to claim another benefit UC has replaced or to top up your income. Are you claiming CTC?
Anyway, yes, your UC will go up and down as it is the amount of payments received your UC assessment period that counts for UC purposes. CBESA is taken off your UC award £1 for £1.
