Labourer has disappeared with my £550

I'd be following this lead :
Was this a friend / relative ?
Can they contact the builder ?
Are they still recommending him ?
If I'd paid for new heart, and the surgeon left me on the operating table with half my chest hanging out, I wouldn't pay them for the work.
You do post some strange advice0 -
Is he a "labourer" or a Landscape Gardener?Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

You've obviously agreed 2 days @ 160 per day so are out of pocket £230. That's what you are entitled to back. 3 months is a ridiculous time so you won't be seeing him again.
Letter before action, then file a claim. If what you said was exactly right you won't lose, he won't even go to court.

Sorry to have to say this, but you won't see him, your materials or your money again.0

So do you have his contact details ?
I suspect not0 -
Invite him round to discuss things when he arrives take him round the back, smash his face in and toss him in the hole, then fill it.

We were recommended a local landscaper who would build us a rockery/water feature
He has since disappeared. We've been in touch over email and I've heard every excuse going (his father died, his van was out of service etc.) but he's not been out our house for nearly three months. I suspect we'll never see him again.
He's done a total of two days work (at £160 per day). Do I need to pay him for those?
By whom?
Do they have any contact details? What do they think of this situation?0 -
He's probably hiding in a hole somewhere. You know what uranium is, right? It's this thing called nuclear weapons. And other things. Like lots of things are done with uranium. Including some bad things.
