I have read that the head of BPA admits that the system is b
ks (not his word) and needs change. The head of IAS appears to be positioning himself for a role in a new appeals system.

Any links to sources? Sounds very interesting. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

There is still dialogue between me and the operator on the IAS appeal system. I will post more when it eventually goes to adjudication. I am not sure how long IAS lets you carry on making comments. Whatever the outcome I have certainly taken up a lot of the operator's time. It's almost worth the extra £40.00. They will wish that they hadn't bothered by the time they have seen my next reply. If the operator comments to my next posting it will be another couple of weeks. This could go on for months.

"Bryn would like to continue to have in place a straight forward, efficient, consistent and independent appeals system which deals fairly and expeditiously with disputes that arise between motorists and parking operators" Taken from IAS site.
That suggests to me that he is positioning himself for a role in a new organisation such as the one that is being suggested by Sir Greg Knight. IAS need to show that they are independent if they want roles in a new set up. The tide is turning on these parking companies that's why I think it was worth a punt to appeal via IAS.
Interesting RAC data but as a newbie I can't post a link.
Also interesting article by the BPA re the Private Members Bill.
