Capita request second assessment

Hi

Daughter had a face to face assessment earlier in the month. Went well with no apparent issues.

Capita then sent notice of appointment for another face to face.

When asked I was told a number of versions as to why . . Seems that the submitted report has been quality assured by capita and the hcp requires further information to complete the report so my daughter stands a better chance of getting the award?

This is strange as they have already submitted report to dwp on the 15th of this month. Although dwp have not received it yet.

Also when speaking to capita they said if I don't want a second face to face appointment i can request a paper based assessment? They could not give a reply when I said we don't need a paper based assessment as she has already had a face to face assessment?

Can anyone shed any light on what's happening please

Many thanks

This can happen if they didn't get enough of info during the first assessment.

May be worth providing some additional evidence (if you have it) for the 2nd assessment.
Medical reports, school reports / letters, SEN etc.
Be very aware of the PIP points system - it is very different to DLA

I would guess the first assessment was audited, and found to be inadequate.

This is exactly what happened to my son last month. We had a assessment waited for decision. Another letter saying had to go at same centre, so phoned up and it took some time for them to say why as they did not know what was going on.

Anyway it was because they were reviewing some reports as they were not agreeing to the information that tied in with other information they had. My son was going from DLA care low to PIP.

Went for another assessment and explained to hcp and she was surprised at this, told her other person left the room to take a personal phone call. Where'er this had anything to do with it i don't know.

He was awarded Enhanced care for 2y'rs what a relief. DWP said that a review usually goes in the person's favour if this happens.

Now waiting for report to be sent out and have asked for both assessment reports. Will see what lies were said in first one.

I am now doing his ESA again and hopeing he does not have to go to another one as i am all esaed out and piping fed up with all the forms i fill out. 4 esa and 3 pips over 2yr's. I hope you have a good outcome.
