A good dose of healthy scepticism, is rarely a bad thing.

Is there a telephone number on the original documents ?
Did the two e-mails come from the same e-mail address ?

The first email was from Customer.Services@mandsbank.com and the second email from stp.credit.card@noexternalmail.hsbc.com
and included the following text:
We would like to approve your application and kindly ask your help to provide some additional information. Once we have satisfied our credit checks you will receive your credit agreement by post to sign and return.

To enable us to proceed, please provide the following information:

· bank details (name of bank, sort code and account number)

Your application is valid for 30 days, so it’s important that you send this information as soon as possible.

Please email your information, together with your reference number above, to underwriting@mandsbank.com

I would never e-mail my bank details even if I thought it legitimate and would not trust a bank which would suggest I do so
