CP Plus charge notice for Medway Moto Services

New to the site so apologies if this has already been answered elsewhere!! Anyway I'm the registered keeper and received a pcn. Having read up on the subject I wasn't going to challenge the pcn but when I tried to pay it the website said my car reg and their pcn didn't match. Tried automated phone service but that told me the fine has been paid. I know it hasn't so do I take it at face value and leave it or what do I do?? Please help! Thanks

Windscreen ticket or postal notification of the charge?

Did you take screenshots of the website page showing details didn't match? If not, get some now.

How long was the overstay? Have you complained to Moto and demanded they get this cancelled as the vehicle occupants were genuine customers.

  • Postal notification. My partner drove there after a late night row and slept in my car. He didn't use the services at all. He didn't buy a ticket and did overstay. Wasn't going to dispute the charge it's just I can't pay it coz the automated service says it's been paid. That's my worry coz it's not been paid by us.

I would sit tight and wait for their next move. Take screenshots as suggested above.

CP Plus are not litigious and last NTK I saw was not PoFA compliant. Meaning, if they don't know the driver (& hopefully you haven't told them) they can't hold the RK liable.

Well that blows the 'genuine customer' bit! :rotfl:

You have 28 days from the issue of the PCN to initiate the appeal processes, so if there's a bit of time available, wait to see if they send anything further through or if their web page changes.

When is the deadline for your initial appeal to CPPlus?

Still ask the services to cancel - driver needed to use the place to sleep before continuing the journey (not an untruth!), didnt see any signs as it was late at night, etc.
