Capitail one searches

I've had Capital one run a credit search Four times in less than three weeks, last one being today.
Credit card isn't used and has a zero balance...i will add that they sent a replacement card out of the blue, other has not expired (has another 18 months to run).
Phoned them today and asked was it the Luma card (never had a Luma) or was it the Ocean card (Ocean closed 2 years ago) and she couldn't find a record of my Capital one account.
Repeatedly asked the lady why the credit search and she couldn't answer...only was told please wait i speak to relevant department...then comes back and asks what the query regards, honestly i couldn't believe what i was hearing.
Finaly told that Capital one offer credit for Littlewoods and all that (her exact words) and i might be interested in other products, ive explained ive not authorised nor applied for other credit lines...she said the four searches would have no impact on history (im well aware the number means nothing).
Im aware when you sign up to credit cards (or my understanding anyway if im wrong) is that they can occasionally credit score you to see if your income/credit worthiness is stable ect or when considering increases.
But are they allowed to do a full search Four times in Three weeks...for no reason, ive not requested new card...ive not requested a limit change.
Im guessing three searches will have a negative impact as wouldn't it appear im applying for credit when im not.?

It depends if they are hard searches or soft searches. A soft search can be made and lenders won't see it. Hard searches will be seen.2.88 kWp System, SE Facing, 30 Degree Pitch, 12 x 240W Conergy Panels, Samil Solar River Inverter, Havant, Hampshire. For it to 'impact' your report it needs to be a hard search. Usually these relate to a application for credit/finance. I wouldn't worry BMW did a few of these soft searches when I settled my car early. They don't flag up or damage your rating in any way.
Hope it helps.0 -
Call credit states the searches will be seen by other lenders...so assume hard search.0

It's call credit? Probably not much to worry about.2.88 kWp System, SE Facing, 30 Degree Pitch, 12 x 240W Conergy Panels, Samil Solar River Inverter, Havant, Hampshire. Installed July 2012, acquired by me on purchase of house in August 20170

Hi,
Maybe I can help explain this one. Is this what you're seeing on your report?
If so, this appears as a result of your running a comparison for credit cards. Each comparison tool works slightly different and some require separate "calls" to different lenders to get results for you.
In this case, a separate call to Capital One's system results in this individual entry appearing in your search history. As these are "quotation searches", they're "soft" searches and don't affect your score.
I hope this helps but if you're seeing something different, do let us know.0 -
I'd imagine it's a 'soft search' too for Capital One.
Have them at least once a month. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0
