NCP Store Street, Manchester - successful appeal

Hi All,
I thought I’d share a successful appeal following the guidance on these pages. It was in the NCP car park on Store Street in Manchester. I was given a PCN, citing parking in a way that caused an obstruction. I had paid, and was parked at the end of a row. There are no markings in the car park for parking bays. Some rows have a bollard on the end, stopping people parking. Where I parked didn’t have one, which I took to mean it was OK. I have seen a lot of cars getting a PCN for parking there in the past few weeks, whereas previously people parked there no problem. Hence the post as I thought it may help someone if they are searching on NCP store street.
Appeal was simple. As per guidance, I used the BPA template letter from the Newbie thread and sent in the appeal at 21 days online. In addition to the template I added two points. First that the fee for parking had been paid. Secondly, I made the point that I didn’t feel the car caused an obstruction as the driver had parked fully off the tarmac road that runs through the car park and there were no signs anywhere to indicate that you shouldn’t park there. I explicitly made the point some rows had a bollard that made it clear not to park on the end of that row. The photos NCP had taken were rubbish and in no way showed the car causing an obstruction. A week after appeal I had email to confirm they were cancelling the ticket.
Hope that this may help anyone else who has had a PCN in recent weeks in this car park. Thanks to those that pulled together the Newbies thread.

It's so refreshing to read posts like this. It shows that the information provided does work and can be understood - if people take the time to try and understand it rather than demand to be spoon-fed.

Well done - easy, isn't it?!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
