I wasn't sure whether to post this on the Grabbit Board or here but these are LED candle bulbs that replace 40 watt SDS [STRIKE]incandesant[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]incund[/STRIKE] old type filament ones.
They work out at £1.50 each (+postage if your total Amazon order is less than £20)
Note - These are not dimmable but last 50,000 hours and consume only 1/20th of the energy of filament bulbs.

Pack of 6 for 9 quid + p&p - Bargain but get in quick.

Excellent price ..They are 5.5 watts. Important because the 3 watters are not bright enough..I have 8 x 5 watts in my main living room (two banks of 4 ) which is plenty bright enough..
Maybe the dimmables may be better to lower the wattage to next to nothing on occasions.
Poundland shops sell 5 watt small screw at a quid..
My light fittings are bayonet..Could nt find cheap bayonet LEDs to fit but can buy an adaptor on Amazon at less than a quid each.

Thanks Cardew for highlighting (excuse pun) the problems some buyers have experienced with the life of these bulbs.
I didn't read the reviews in detail but the 4/5 stars overall sort of convinced me they were on a par with other makes.
The seller does seem to offer free replacements and in one response quotes a failure rate of 0.1% which I do find rather OTT.
So possibly a case of "You pays yer money and...""It's nice to be important but more important to be nice"

I like the energizer ones. Although I haven't had them for long and cost around £2.500
