Bristol Council Bus Lane Fine

Hi there, so this is my first post here. I was actually going to set up an account to start asking for some mortgage advice but alas this less exciting topic has turned up first!
I got a text message today from someone living in my previous rental property (I left my number in case they got anything that looked important in the post…)
It was a letter from Marston Holdings addressed to me for a removal notice. It stated an amount was now due to its client Bristol City Council for £408. No other details were present so I gave the company a call. The chap who answered informed me it was for driving in a bus lane in Bristol mid last year. I've not received any of the original letters, even from from the original fine as they were sent to the wrong address.
The guy on the phone said the only option was for me to give them my new address and pay up. For reasons I'm sure you can understand l'm a little reluctant. It did sate on the call I'd be willing to pay the original fine but I was told it wasn't possible.
I haven't passed on my address and I've asked the new tenants to refrain from passing anything on. I also no longer own the car that has the fine associated with it. I have lodged a complaint with Bristol City Council but have yet to hear anything in reply.
I'm interested what people's advice might be on this one?
Thanks for any help.:)

He lied.It did state on the call I'd be willing to pay the original fine but I was told it wasn't possible.
He lied again.I have lodged a complaint with Bristol City Council but have yet to hear anything in reply.

Start a new topic and show them all pages of the letter. Also worth contacting 'BailiffAdviceOnline, the experts on what bailiffs can and can't do.
You will be OK but you must act quickly before the nasty lying gits trace you.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
