Hi

I've received a letter in the post from CPM UK car parking management. Basically the driver parked near a nearby train station in an area that we believe isn't for permit holders only. I received no windscreen ticket and a few weeks later received a letter in the post saying we have breached the conditions of this private land. There is a sign that says residents parking but that's it.

What should I do? Do I have any grounds to appeal this/should I appeal or should I ignore?

Have read several other threads but seem to have different information.

any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Start by editing your post to remove the information about who did what. Only ever refer to The Driver and The Keeper who are two different people. ;)

Please confirm the exact name of the parking company as there are many with similar initials.

Next, read the Sticky thread for NEWBIES then send the relevant appeal template. There are two, one for BPA and one for IPC members, which is why we need to know the exact name of the company you are dealing with.

The advice to ignore has not been given here since the law changed in 2012, unless you are in Scotland or NI.

  • Thanks! It's CPM uk car park management

Their letter mentions being sent in accordance with the IPC independent parking commission?

How do I know which template to send?

    Thank you for your reply!

    the clue is IPC

check the IPC AOS database, if your PPC is in that list , send the IPC template

but do not expect it to be cancelled , because it wont be !!

so read ALL of the IPC advice in that NEWBIES sticky thread

and edit post #1 , remove any hint of who was driving, parking cpmpanies monitor public forums like this one and a screenshot is just a press of a button away

No windscreen ticket? The photos would show if they did stick one on and then ghost ticketed it away.

If no windscreen ticket, they only have 14 days to get the NtK to you, so date of contravention and date on NtK please.

Should be a winner in court even if not at the IAS.

Right, found them under U for UK not C for CPM. Doh.

So, send the IPC template in black exactly as you find it in the NEWBIES sticky thread, then read up on what to do if/when it's rejected.

Get photos of the area, entrance, and signage now in case they try court later.
