Again, don't answer calls - simple. Nowadays it seems that people just can't resist answering - I never have. If the number is in my contacts list I know who it is. If it isn't then I don't answer.

As for emails - don't open them.

I don't get calls off ladies, I get emails with funny text symbols to replace certain letters. I can't change my email address as it's a business one that is ingrained in so many accounts and I also need to have access to my back catalogue over the last few years. Deleting this account would have all my past important emails disappear.

Not if you back them up yourself first (which you should be doing anyway if they are THAT important).

Regarding calls ... I gave you the answer way back in post #2.

Ive just had Call protect on BT added to my mums account, calls go to a junk voicemail. It also logs how many calls have been diverted. Now im getting calls everyday while she gives me the number and time!!!!

I signed myself and mother..........to the TPS a couple of years ago

Had a couple of phone calls, when I asked how did they get my phone number as I was on the TPS......they cut me off

It helped for us.

It helped for us.

TPS doesn't help with calls from abroad, which is where many scam calls come from.

STOP ANSWERING THE PHONE CALLS. DON'T OPEN EMAILS.

Since adopting this policy years ago I can count the number of scam calls/emails I've had in the last twelve months on the fingers of one hand.

If the scammers don't get an answer/don't get a read receipt your number/email will eventually be dropped from the sold-on lists.

Some of us (including me!) get calls that will bring me jobs and business from new customers. If I don't answer quite a few will just ring someone else.

I'm not bombarded with spam calls, but I do get them. Usually when I'm up a ladder, in a loft or crawling under something. I think they somehow know the most inconvenient time to call. If I have a few minutes I sometimes string them along, but generally as soon as they reveal whatever crappy scheme they are calling about I just hang up.

It's probably about 1 per week. At 10 a day I think I'd buy a foghorn and play it to them.
