Boiler breakdown and cover for Vokera
Comments
-
UPDATE - Thank you for all your help, interest and replies..
The engineer from Vokera came about 10 minutes ago and sorted the problem. It was the 'remote' not communicating with the boiler. The engineer said it sometimes happens if the heating has not been used - and I have only been using hot water lately. He showed me how to switch to hot water only - this would have stopped all the heating on maximum since before 6 am. He was really helpful.
Again - Thank you for the information and helpful links - all very much appreciated and I really value this great help.

What does he mean by 'remote'? i assume that he means that the controller isn't communicating with the relay box. There is no reason why it should not to work with the heating turned off. If that is the case, then it is a very poor design. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

The word 'remote' is what I was calling it Hengus - I mean the small wall mounted unit with batteries in it. This unit is on the wall in my hall and it was not communicating with the boiler in the kitchen.
The engineer said by switching the position of a knob on the boiler itself to the icon of a tap, that would only allow hot water and would switch the heating off. It would have still needed to be sorted but would have stopped the heating.
I hope I have understood properly. Does that sound right, Thanks?
