Sold item, buyer wants to postpone postage

A delivery office might have a standard "return within N days" policy, but a phone call should extend it.0

Can the buyer give the address of a relative or a neighbour as their address in Ebay & Paypal so that the parcel can be sent now, and then change it back later? Would that work?
No seller protection if you don't send to the delivery address entered/confirmed during checkout, so too late to change, I guess.0 -

Exactly, Which is why this is a very difficult situation for a buyer to put a seller in.
With all the rules about late posting defects etc it has encouraged sellers to abandon customer service and just play safe to protect their account.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I had a similar issue last week where someone wanted me to delay postage by 10 days. I e-mailed the buyer and said as I send my items tracked and enter a tracking number I had to send it within my stated dispatch time. I cancelled the order and asked them to re-buy when they were able to accept the parcel. They did re-buy 8 days later.
It seems crazy that you need to deny a reasonable request, but sellers must follow Paypal postage rules and Ebay dispatch time rules - failing to do so means losing seller protection, and a possible late delivery black mark - and a few of those are enough to kill off an account.0 -

I know I repeat myself but the new ebay rules mean that we sellers can no longer offer as good a customer service as we would have done in the past. The tracking and postage links if you buy postage online mean that shipping outside the dispatch times, even where buyer has requested it, means we get a late defect, and I'm not getting one of those and like you would probably just cancel.
This also works for replacement, send a replacement if original was damaged or lost and again linked postage means the dispatch time suddenly shows as late, even if the original went on time.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
