Wickes and B&Q apparantly don't sell it?
Has it got a different name? Wickes sell granular sub base but this too coarse and large pieces..
I am having artificial grass installed and the layer said if i source this and sharp sand myself it will be cheaper for me.
Jewson otherwise sell Granite Dust Handy Bag 6mm? Is this the same?
Apprciate any help!

We call it grano or grano dust on sites in our part of the world. I am reasonably certain it is 3mm down, so your size sounds big to me. The Jewson bag sounds like the product and for artificial grass I doubt the size matters
A builders merchant will be your answer, but first establish from your grass supplier exactly what size product you need.0 -
I buy horticultural grit in dumpy bags, which in my part of the country is granite about 6mm down. Elsewhere it's called 'Cornish grit'
Other grits are available when transport costs come into play, but Cornish grit is always granite.
My bags of just under a cubic metre cost around £80 trade price, delivered. Buying in sacks might work out rather expensive, but that depends on the proportion of sand to grit and the size of the proposed lawn.
As Furts says, you need better info really.0 -

That interests me. Builders sacks are around 800kg, perhaps 1 tonne if sourced carefully. Hiab straight off the lorry. Your cubic metre would be around 2.25 -2.5 tonnes, so are these agricultural sacks for fork lift offload?0 -

I was going to say "around a tonne" and changed it to say just under a cubic metre as I thought that might be easier to imagine. I didn't realise a cubic metre would weigh so much more!
I just buy by the bag. For horticultural purposes, one keeps me going for a couple of years.0 -
Sets me pondering more now! Tradepoint will deliver the bags for £47, providing you hit a £200 order, and builders merchants should be competing against this without minimum orders.
May be time for you to shop around, or negotiate, when you next need a sack?0 -
I can't see the sort of grit I use in Tradepoint. Most of it is 1 - 4mm washed granite. A few larger bits slip in.
A specialist gravel company charges around £120 to my address, so I'm happy at £80 from my local builders' merchant.
I've been using Cornish grit for over 20 years. I used to source it from a Mendip company which manufactures potting composts, reasoning that if they were having it sent from Cornwall, it was worth it.
Now, I'm much closer to the source.
Ordinary aggregate here is about £52 per dumpy, delivered. The lorries are always passing here. If it's only one bag, it hitches a ride on someone else's load.0 -

I had need of some full sheets of MDF recently. Went to my local Buildbase and told them what the target price was (B&Q price match). They came within a few pence and got free delivery on an order just under £120.
I see Travis Perkins do 800Kg bulk bags of 6mm Grano dust for £78.70+VAT - Like Buildbase, their pricing is fluid so haggle hard and I'm sure you'll get close to B&Q/Tradepoint prices and get free delivery. Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -

It could be quarry dust they are asking for, this website has a list of quarry products with photos of each https://www.robinsonquarry.co.uk/quarry-products.phpNorn Iron Club member No 3530
