I answer withheld number calls as doctors and council departments (especially the libraries) withhold and yesterday, I answered one , where a man started the usual waffle that callers use before trying to sell a buildings service .
I had had two annoying calls already, so was rather short, saying that I didn't want any work done ,but would call if and when I did.
He then shouted 'Do you know who I am ?' and , as I didn't reply, repeated twice getting louder each time.
Deciding to treat rudeness with like I pressed the cut off button, then realised that I could have asked him how I could know who he was if his number was withheld.
Then I realised that I may have offended Prince Andrew.....who is well know for this rant at a security guard who asked for his pass while in the grounds of Buckingham Palace.
I was lucky, but if someone else upsets him, they may be due a holiday in The Tower.

Just wait until Philip turns up to unblock the drains. He has plenty of spare time at the moment and looking for a hobby.:D0

I wasn't clear,as he didn't actually offer to sell anything because I didn't give him chance.
I have amended my post by adding 'where a man started the usual waffle that callers use before trying to sell a buildings service .'
He just so reminded me of the news item about Prince Andrew's rant at the security guard.0 -
My aunt put the phone down on the lady from the day care centre. With my aunt's permission, I'd asked for a day centre place and the woman was ringing to arrange it.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
