BT overpayment

Hi

I've beeen paying line rental to sky for nearly 10 years. I've just fealised that my partner has been paying BT for a line rental (not £20/pm) at the same time as she though you had to be paying PT for the line. Is there any wat to claw some of this back?

Thanks,

I take it you are getting bills from BT and Sky ( between the both of you) for the same thing (line rental) so is the telephone number on both bills the same ?, if you recon this has been the case for 10 years or more, ( and assuming it's the same number on both bills) was the number originally a 'BT' number and you 'ported' the number to Sky ?
If you dial 17070 from your landline, does the AVR say something like ' Hi, I'm Zoe, what do you want...' ,or something like 'this circuit is defined as 01***,******.
Zoe is Sky Network, the other is BT
I would suggest you look at the bills closely to see exactly what is being charged for, if for example the phone number wasn't important to you , and when you moved to Sky you got any old Sky number allocated ( so the number on the BT bill isn't the same as the number on the Sky bill) then the onus was on you to advise BT.
If the number is the same , in effect Sky by asking for the number to be ported that should have started the cease of the BT service, so if this is the case who messed up Sky or BT
Is it possible the BT or Sky bill is for something other that line rental,
More detail is required to work out what may have happened and if you could do anything about it now
