Hi
has anyone had this done to them from apple iTunes?
daughter bought a app £74.99, when the money was taken from her account,
she then tried to use the app, but kept asking her to pay again.
she checked her email to see if it been validated but received nothing.
checked her bank account money had been taken out.
she email and waited 24 hours but no response. so she contacted bank and they refunded her money back.
a week later when she went on iTunes store it said her apple id account was disabled.
when she contacted them they said as she got the bank to refund her money, she was no longer able to use that account or bank card details.
so i thought the idea about using your bank card so your protected if you don't receive goods you payed for? as martin on here always says buy with your bank card and don't use debit card.

Things like professional software or app versions of specialised textbooks are often very pricey.
I had my iTunes account hacked years ago and even though I was able to get it back the fact it had a cancelled card attached to it caused problems. It was easier to open a new account. OP - Did your daughter contact the app maker or iTunes to find out what the issue was?0 -
And it worked, didn't it?buckrogers wrote: »so i thought the idea about using your bank card so your protected if you don't receive goods you payed for? as martin on here always says buy with your bank card and don't use debit card.
She never received the product/service paid for, so a chargeback was asked for and received. Job done.
p.s. not sure Martin said don't use a debit card, did he?0 -
it was for a app for sat nav, but never worked after purchase just asked again to pay for it. even tho the money was taken from her account.
they say because she got the bank to refund the money her account is now closed,
seems they don't like you to get your money back.
she said she will open a new account and different card details.
p.s. not sure Martin said don't use a debit card, did he?
better to use a bank card and not pay by debit card, sure i read it on here somewhere,
as you are more protected and get your money back, then using a debit card.0 -

I can't answer about the blocking of the account because she asked her bank to get the money back seems very strange to me and I would need to see what Apple exactly said.
With regards to issues with apps what she should be doing is when she gets the email receipt from apple there is a link under the app called report problem. You click on that and start the process of getting money back because App does not do what its advertised to do.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. There are so many free satnav apps that work fine that I'm surprised many people even still buy them. Maybe there's more choice on Android than Apple - I'm not in the Apple ecosystem.0

It's not unusual at all, many companies will do it as a chargeback will cost them money.
In this instance they should have at least given Apple a chance to respond (24hrs is not really enough), who in my experience will usually refund without question, rather than going off the deep end and doing a chargeback.0 -

What do you mean by "bank card"? Do you mean credit card?0
