Hi everyone
I have received a letter detailing a fine for parking in a retail park for too long. It was issued to me using ANPR.
Thanks for any help given!

You say you read up in the newbies FAQ thread before posting.
Yet didn't pick up on never reveal the driver.
You need to edit your thread title and post to remove details of who was driving
Then follow the advice in the newbies FAQ on both complaining to the shops and how and when to appeal0 -
I read that is with regards to Scotland and NI. I will keep reading. I don't want to anger regular posters. Just wanted some advice is all. Sorry Quentin0

No - the advice is to never reveal the driver - period.
The reason why is that keepers have an added defence point, even in England and Wales ... the parking company has hoops to jump through to be able to use POFA to transfer liability from driver to keeper, and they never jump through the hoops correctly.

It is particularly important to not name the driver in Scotland and NI because it ties the PPCs hands completely for further action if they can't identify a driver but even with the Keeper Liability in England and Wales, it does also help you significantly to keep the widest range of options to defend a ticket - so that's why you need to base any appeal as the keeper.
You should also edit the info from your other thread in Motoring. PPCs ain't particularly bright but you don't want to hand them anything on a plate.0 -
Smart cases are all the same, all won by using the templates from the NEWBIES thread. Dead easy.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

So first you say that you were within the time allowed to park for free then you edit it to say you got the fine for staying too long?.Hi everyone

How long are you allowed you park in the car park for?0 -
the words "ME , MYSELF and I" are banned in any "explanations"
so WE parked up
WE were in the shops......................
THE DRIVER did .................
THE KEEPER received ............................
words are important here, and on a public forum accessed by tens of thousands of people, LESS is more
never blab on a public forum
Never blab to a parking company about who did what
ask TAKMAN to edit his or her posts0 -
Seems a little OTT of takman to quote the OP's original post, (did he get it out of a cache?), which he has subsequently edited after being advised to do so!
@pasta85 - pm takman or the board guide and ask him to edit the quote of your original post (which you subsequently edited) he has put in #7
The ppcs monitor this forum and can use your thread against you, which is why you were advised to edit the post in the first place!0 -

It is not a fine.
Just because Not so Smart said a motorist overstayed does not mean that the motorist actually overstayed, especially where unfit for purpose and notoriously inaccurate ANPR is used.
We see posts daily where motorists have received a PCN even though they did not overstay.
