have you tried looking in the main site under the cards section to see which one is best - it also tells you how to check your credit rating

If you get rejected for credit be careful not to apply for cards, loans etc too many times at once, I'm pretty sure that makes credit companies wary of you that would usually accept you. (in case someone is trying to defraud you for example)

I'd try Egg if you haven't already. My credit isn't great but they accepted me and I got 0% for 12 months on balance transfers.

No problem, Halifax is also an option. I think their 0% interest option is for 15 months as well.

If you get refused for the next cc I would wait at least a couple of months before applying again as I know this does affect your credit file.

I'm sure more people will be able to help you tomorrow. I imagine quite a few people will have advice but won't be online at the moment.

The only other option I can think of, if you simply cannot get a credit card, is a low interest loan (Lower than 16.5% anyway) over a short term period. I wouldn't get one until you've properly explored all your available options though. Be careful of loan insurance if you do decide to get one, banks will *REALLY* try to get you to purchase it and it's cheaper (If you need it) elsewhere.
