Student Business: Advice Needed

Hi all,
I'm 15 and I recently started a student business with my friend.
We think (after working very hard for 2 months around school and other commitments) that it is a viable business idea and we're both happy to pursue it for the forseeable future.
However, we are getting to the stage where we need some solid legal advice on a few issues.
I was wondering if there is anybody on this forum who are trained in corporate law and might be willing to lend a (free) hand. Alternatively are there any organisations who could assist us?
Thanks,
Dom

businesslink is usually recommended (google it) and the Prince's Trust is especially for young people (but you might at 15 be too young!)Signature removed for peace of mind0

Thanks for businesslink- I'll take a look. I know I'm too young for Princes Trust (18 min).
I'd really like someone from the forum I could speak to though... like a mentor...
Or am I being silly?

If you want SOLID legal advice, I'd say you need to pay for it.
Suppose someone does offer to mentor you, you've got no comeback if it turns out later they didn't know what they were talking about and gave you poor advice. Whereas when you pay for a service, you usually do have comeback on poor advice. It's often a small consolation because of the time and expense involved, but at least it's there.
I'd say that on the forums, people are usually happy to offer GENERAL advice. But I'm not the only one to say that if you want to be certain, you need to see a properly qualified professional.
There is of course a lot of research you can do for yourself, and with businesslink you may find that either you can deal with this situation yourself, OR find out how to get the help you need.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
I'm perfectly able to read up on specific laws and check the general advice, but really can't afford professional advice.
By specific help I really mean just an overview of my legal position- the kind of thing I can get by posting on the forums- with references to sets of laws which I can check myself. I just don't want to have to start a load of new threads, especially since I can't see a specific forum for legal rights w/regards to businesses.
I just hoped that someone might want to help a student business get off the ground
Thanks though0 -
If you post up exactly what you want to know, I might be able to advise although i'm very busy so can't commitment to anything.
I am a SFEDI accredited business advisor working with 50+ businesses in my local area so should be able to assist or signpost.
