Using online brokers

Hello, I am considering purchasing shares with an online, execution-only broker and am currently looking at Hoodless Brennan as the most likely choice, their costs and charges seem acceptable to me, but i am wondering if anyone has any experience with them they would care to share, or any general advice on the matter...

Also, can i set up an account with them using a building society account, or for example a debit account?

Just be aware that Hoodless Brennan recently introduced an 'inactivity charge' so if you don't trade once every 3 months, you have to pay a fee.. hence I would not recommend them for infrequent traders.

You may want to read the Share Dealing Discussion Thread but keep an eye on the dates of the posts in case tariffs have changed etc..
