JSA sanction if lose job

Hello
I was on contributions based JSA for 4 weeks and then managed to get a full time job
I have been in new job for 2 weeks and sadly its not going well , the job is not as it was described and is really not a good fit for my skill set , so my performance stats are not good , I am doing my best to make it work and looking for other work at the same time
My question is from what I can gather the current place is quick to get rid of people while on probationary period so stands a chance I could be let go if my stats don't improve , Ive been told that there is a high turn over and a lot of staff last less than one month ...
What saction would I get if I got let go for and had to sign on contribution JSA again ?
Hope it does not happen but needed to ask
Thanks Donna

There would be no sanction if you were dismissed unless it was for gross misconduct. If it was because you did not 'pass' your probationary period then no sanction.
Please do not resign (even if they encourage you to do so) as that will probably cause a sanction. Best option is to let them dismiss you. Better option is to find another job!
If you are dismissed within 12 weeks of ending your JSA claim then you can make a rapid reclaim.0 -
Many thanks for the quick reply
If I do have to make a rapid reclaim of JSA will the 4 weeks I was previously claiming JSA be included or will the 6 months of contributions JSA start again ?
If I don't need to sign on again till after 12 weeks have passed same quesion

In answer to your first question:
The 4 weeks already claimed will be included in the 6 months.
To answer the second question:
It depends on when your new claim begins - if it is in the same benefit year - January to December (ish) - then you would be entitled to 6 months minus the 4 weeks already claimed.
If it was in a different benefit year then the new claim would be based on different tax years and you would have to qualify through your NI contributions of those tax years. If you qualified then you would get another 6 months for the new benefit year.

Epitome's post explains it but note the poster posted in November - i.e near the beginning of a new benefit year.0
