The ECHO was to display on screen what was intended to happen. Once that proved that the intent was correct, removing the ECHO and running the BAT again would actually do it.0 -

I really should learn how to do this !!!! myself.
Any recommended (easy start) tutor websites? I did some BASIC programming in the 1980s (so am OK with the principles of loops, subroutines and the like), but am otherwise clueless. Or should I be looking at Python, instead..?0 -
This is one area where it might be easier to write a bash script and run under a Windows 10 bash shell, rather than learn the almost impenetrable weirdness that harks back to ms-dosFor every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.0
