if you were at a birthday bash at a sit down meal and a book came around basically saying 'please can you write something in here for the birthday girl as x is making a scrapbook' ~ what would you do? write in it? write in it begrudgedly? stick your nose up? Think x is a twit? thats 'not' the done thing?

I generally write inappropriate stuff. Try alluding to some incident that no-one remembers ('cause it never happened, but could have).

i'd probably write in it, but take about 3 hours to think up something witty which hadn't already been written.

my mum used to say, squeaky shoes meant you hadn't paid for them, but i prefer your saying, it gives me hope

These things go round at weddings, in fact someone passed one around at mine. I have to say that getting it was lovely. Reading everyone's little notes was touching. But, when someone passes one to me I never have a clue what to write, so I usually end up writing something really dumb, or if the kids are there making them do it cos it's cute coming from them.

The person who's birthday it is will love it though and people less grumpy than me will probably enjoy writing in it too.
