I have a petrol lawn mower and the outer sheath of the pull cord has frayed. The frayed bit bunched up and now I can't start the mower

Is it relatively easy to replace the pull cord?

It's a Sovereign classic. I googled and got a walk thru. Cable is ordered.

It looks easy but I just wondered if it was as easy as it looked.

However, just hit first snag....it looked like 'pins/fixing' were Allen key remove able, sadly they're Not, they're more round inside

Yes, as suggested, sounds like they might be torx.

A picture is worth a thousand words. ;)

The pics on the link look like what I know as Allen key ones? Is that the correct name...torx?

I'm not allowed to post attachments or I would have uploaded a pic. Any idea who I can PM to find out why?

On closer inspection they look like rivets to me?

This forum does not host pictures.
Host them elsewhere and post the url.

Then you'll need to drill them out.
