That's a ten pound charge, to borrow one pound, for no time at all = infinity %
re insurance liability, I thought it was an individual (or named individuals) who are insured under a motor policy, not the actual vehicle. Therefore where an individual is not at fault, their insurance is not liable. Case in point: my daughter's car was rear-ended in the middle of the night, with such force that the front of her car was pushed in to the next car along. The driver responsible for this mess sped off, and was untraceable. The owner of the car my daughter's car was pushed in to had to rely on their own insurance, as my daughter's insurer made it quite clear there was no liability.
