Lol, in someway I do miss the student discounts. Especially going to the cinema, I swear the price has doubled since I was a student.
If you're in need of some bargains though, try the Discount Codes 'n Vouchers (online & offline) forum at http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.html?f=38.
It helps to ease the pain slightly.

I have an easy answer to this....... enrol on a course at a college that is affiliated to the Students Union - eg GCE Cake Decorating - instant SU card!0

I hate to say it, but why do student discounts exist in the first place? Because the shops are kind and generous? Or because they hope we'll keep buying things at full price when we're a wealthy graduate?0

I didnt give it a seconds thought until last week in topshop. When i got to the till i got last years NUS card out and she wouldnt accept it, cos its out of date. I was gutted!0

Never really used my NUS card to be honest, didn't think the discounts were all that great, apart from the cinema prices.
What I do miss is my free overdraft.....0 -
Hay Hay, I have finished uni for a bit now but my regular student id card doesn't expire until later nxt year. No idea why. I still use it for discounts and no-one has ever questioned it0

To encourage you to go there surely? You might see two similar garments in Topshop/man and River Island. TS offer student discount so you might choose to get the item there over RI.0
