soon to leave applying for credit card after mortgage

Hi

Just need some advice we completed and recieved the keys for my new house last Thursday. I'm looking to get a 0% credit card to buy some house hold items. But I notice on the mortgage offer the bank said they will be doing some rolling credit checks. So is it a big no to apply for credit this soon after getting a mortgage.

Once you have a mortgage secured then they can't just take it away, provided of course that you keep up with your repayments, so go ahead - you might wish to see how you fare on the eligibility calculator to assess your chances of getting a 0% card, as well as checking your credit files.

I applied for 2 credit cards 2 months after mortgage completion and I was accepted for MBNA and Virgin with decent credit limit.
