Lands End to John O Groats

I was wondering if anyone had ever gone from Lands End to John O Groats (Penazane to Wick) by train at all and if it's something worth doing as bucket list type thing.

Yeah I've seen this looks quite interesting and it appears they have had a lot of crowd funding etc.

I'm looking to do my journey for about £80.00.

I'll have to look into scenic routes and things though.

Looks like you can do Aberdeen to Penzance for as little as £51.70 - http://www.brfares.com/#faredetail?orig=ABD&dest=PNZ&rte=487&tkt=MES

And Wick to Aberdeen for as little as £14.80 - http://www.brfares.com/#faredetail?orig=WCK&dest=ABD&rte=446&tkt=VA3

Both with advanced tickets. Not a very scenic route, certainly not the quickest route, and the 12hr+ journey from Aberdeen not for the faint hearted! You'd see a lot of the country through the window, it stops almost everywhere: http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/P31007/2017/08/15

How? - Nothing on that page seems to work.

I've been wanting to do that route for years but the cheapest direct ticket I can see on the XC site is a good bit dearer, although I'll be looking out for their sales.

Penzance isn't Lands End, and Wick isn't John O'Groats. You will need to take a bus at both ends!

Yeah I know but they are the closest stations then Ill do the rest by bus.
