"Re-nationalise Energy distribution." I said nothing about compensation.0

I'm currently using PFP Energy and they tell me that I have to select a new tariff so I asked them to advise me what one was the most effective for my use.
When I used the link below, EDF Online Saver Sep18 came out as the best large company offering a saving of over £100, with smaller companies the saving was another £40

The best deal/supplier varies with projected annual usage and postcode. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Ok - I will give it a go. There is no such thing as average usage; Ofgem uses Low/Medium/High.
If I use the Medium figures of 3100kWhs/year of electricity and 12500kWhs/year of gas, then the cheapest dual fuel deal for my postcode is Economy Energy at £821.96 per year. EDF Online Saver Sep 18 comes in at a massive £1025.65 per year and it is well down the tariff list - below NPower and E.oN.
We can all recommend a good supplier on the basis of customer service but best price (cheapest deal) has to be via a full market price comparison.
Edit:
Just a further point. You have used the word SAVINGS. Unless you were on a standard variable tariff then savings are just not possible given the raft of price rises over the past few months - particularly, for electricity. Note that for anyone on a fixed tariff with less than 12 months to run then, under the Ofgem 12 month cost method, it is possible for a supplier/PCW to show a saving when, at the same time, there is an annual cost increase. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
