Annie Sloan paint

Ok so I've just bought my first ever chalk paint to try. Foolishly bought 1Ltr cos I loved the colour which is French Linen. Got home and tried it out but it's too dark.
So my question is - can I lighten it with some white emulsion (Matt) or white primer or does it have to be white chalk paint?
Thank you

You can mix it - but you need to use another Annie Sloan. Otherwise you're changing the composition of the paint and that might cause problems. Not to mention losing the Annie Sloan effect/finish.
Having said that, if you have some white emulsion to hand (matt) you could try mixing a little bit and painting it onto a piece of spare wood and see what happens. But one of the good things about Annie Sloan is that if you don't like it (before you wax it) then you just wipe it all off with a wet/damp cloth. See if that works as well.0 -
Thanks Jenniefour but my money saving side kicked in and I didn't want to buy any more paint so I will do as you suggest and just mix a little and see what happens!0

Yes, Annie Sloan is expensive. Check your local freecycle, if you have one.
Your other alternative is to leave it as it is and see if it grows on you, it's a popular colour.0
