Anyone out there had sorry dealings with this firm, especially for parking at the Bluff Inn car park in Hayle, and more especially on 30th Match 2017?
I understand they are a nightmare in Cornwall and several people have had money swallowed by their machines and tickets issued for lesser amounts with no redress. I have a case building up that has gone to Debt recovery who are threatening a court case.
I have read the newbies info for IAS members but had already gone beyond the driver/keeper information stage on the night in question.
Any comments welcome but the basic facts are;
Machine issued ticket for wrong amount. I called the company on the number given to report it.
PCN apparently posted in windscreen- no PCN when I returned to car
Imposition of 'fine' with no right of appeal , first I knew of it as no ticket received
Conpany ignore my questions about customer service, twice and gave standard reply saying I can not appeal
Gone to debt recovery company, now court threatened- £150 fine for a £1.60 ticket that should have been £2 with 'ticket having expired '
Groan- this all seems so complicated , Should I get a solicitor to work it out for me?

Debt collectors cannot take you to court, so you ignore those idiots.
There is nothing you can do now except collect all the evidence you can get and wait for six years to see if they try court. The BMPA motoring charity website will tell you the likelihood of that happening.
Do not respond to anything except real court papers.
Get pics of signage, all documentation, list any calls or contact you had, when and with whom, and get any information about similar problems in case you have to defend it in court.
Also, complain to your MP and the one local to the car park as well.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

as above , and IGNORE drp , they are powerless and they are not threatening court action , read the latter again
they are threatening to tell your PPC to issue a court claim , totally different scenario
the PPC can issue an MCOL, but DRP cannot !!
yes it is complicated, which is why it was on itv last night and why forums like this exist , complain to your MP and get parliament and the DCLG to actually do something about it
and no , you wont be involving a solicitor, because this would cost you more money then if you lost in court , and the vast majority have no idea about this topic anyway (unlike conveyancing and ambulance chasing)
you cannot claim back your solicitor costs0 -
Thank you both so far for your advice, I recall now the chap at the debt company saying he would be writing to AS parking and recommending they take me to court, despite me having a long and amicable conversation with him about the mitigating circumstances.0

They all lie, and cheat, and bully, and lie again.
The debt crawlers don't want this to go to court because they will get nothing if that happens, so ignore them and do not contact them again.
As before, all you can do is wait and see if AS take you to court, in which case you come back here for help.
Please don't come back though if the toothless debt crawlers contact you again.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

NEVER ring a debt collector - they have one agenda alone, and will pretend to be your friend in order to extort money from you. As the others have said, you should have ignored this stage.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hello, I'm currently dealing with a very similar situation in the same car park. I had a valid ticket on my dash board. You can see it in the pictures they have given as evidence but they say I failed to display the ticket correctly and I owe them £160! I just wondered if you ended up paying in the end. Thank you0

Bee111, for what it's worth, I received an NTK for an apparent Parking Charge Notice from AS Parking over two years ago, and it only went as far as the debt recovery letter stage, and nothing for over a year since.
When you mention the "evidence", have you been issued court documents? Or are you only talking about debt letters?
I don't think you'd likely go beyond the debt letter stage with AS Parking, so don't worry, but do keep an eye on it.0
